Travelling is something most people put down as a 'favourite' or a 'hobby' of theirs. It is also something we all wish we could do more often! (I just ticked both those boxes, thank you very much.)
The actuality of being able to travel in the near or dear future is unlikely to come to fruition. (I love it when I fruition comes together.) In the meantime I have been gorging myself with Travel Man : 48 Hours in...
TM48HI_ is a travel show for those who love weekend breaks, have a short attention span or new parents longing to see something outside the four walls of their homes. (Again, boxes ticked!)
Richard Ayoade hosts the Channel 4 show and spends a weekend in various locations with various co-hosts. It is informative, humorous and enjoyable to watch.
Some of my favourite episodes include Jessica Hynes, Noel Fielding and Rob Delaney. But every episode is delightful as those rascals endeavour in international hijinks.
Grandparents! Oh my stars, have you heard about this?
If you are lucky, like me, they are these caring, nurturing, wise beings that think everything your baby does is as cute as you think it is! Amazing!
They listen and relate because they have been there.
They don't judge (to your face) because they have been there.
They help BECAUSE they have been there.
Peaches has met her South African grandparents and is as happy as a pig in shit. She is getting much more attention, songs, stories and cuddles than ever before.
I am pleased as punch for this. It is silly but I did not realise just how lonely, exhausted and isolated I had been feeling until their arrival. For the first time our apartment has felt full with life, conversation, and plans.
Just how a home should always feel.
Like with every visit this up must come down. We begin the leaving countdown and a numbered cloud hovers over every moment. Can't just sit and enjoy this, oh no.
Maybe we will just hide their passports.
