EXT. MODEL VILLAGE - DAY
We see time lapse footage of miniature model village as mould slowly covers the pavements, brick walls, rooftops, windows and following it inside one of the homes.
INT. INSIDE HOME - MOMENTS LATER
Inside the window the mould is spreading throughout this miniature cottage over the furniture, fake food and eventually the human figurines inside.
TITLE: The Dampening.
I like to think of myself as a mostly rational and reasonable person - in as much as I rationalise through reasoning. While out with the buggy on narrow pavement, I step into the muddy side to make way for oncoming foot traffic (or into the mud entirely if needs must) - rationalising that we equally stay half dry/half muddy and will thank or nod to each other in passing reasoning that it was an agreeable decision.
But it does not always go down like that.
Sometimes other individuals have their own agenda and force you into a situation where you are solely covered in mud. But that is people and we are un BANANA predictable.
What is unreasonable and irrational but predictable is mould! This damp little country I love is always giving, mildew. In my home. Before moving here I had never heard of damp traps or de-humidifiers. In a life of (privilege) central heating and air conditioning it was never on my radar.
We use damp traps, de-humidifiers, open windows and electric drying racks. Yet, our walls crawl with a colourful plethora of moulds and mildew. It is a constant losing battle that makes no sense to me.
There are a lot of losing battles that make no sense to me, like with those I shall not surrender to the globby moist suppressors.
And I will never think of this as normal.
(Is she still talking about the damp?)
Not an instructional blog but the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth - so help me Mom.
